Catholic Charities Community Services Receives Car from Nu-Look
On December 19th, 2006 a passenger car will be donated to Catholic Charities Community Services at a ceremony taking place at 1:00 pm at Nu-Look Collision Center’s Henrietta location at 840 Lehigh Station Rd.
After hearing about the loss of our agency vehicle in the windstorm that blew through Rochester on Labor Day weekend, Nu-Look decided to donate the car to Catholic Charities Community Services. The agency lost the use of the vehicle after a neighbor’s tree fell on the van in the agency’s parking lot.
In addition to the vehicle donation, the employees of Nu-Look’s six locations have filled the car with Christmas gifts for 6 families (22 recipients) who receive services through Catholic Charities Community Services. The gifts have been loaded into the car for safe delivery by Christmas Eve.
This “modern day Santa’s sleigh” will be presented to Paul T. Pickering, the agency’s Executive Director, by Jeffrey DiFulvio, owner and president of Nu-Look Collision Centers.
Catholic Charities Community Services, through its 220 employees, provides case management and other supports to over 550 persons with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and those living with HIV/AIDS disease. The agency provides these services throughout the greater Rochester area and does so without regard to religion, race, sex age, lifestyle preference or ability to pay. It is the belief of Catholic Charities Community Services that all people have the right to live in dignity as people of God.
Catholic Charities Community Services carries on an annual Christmas Giving Project that matches community donors with the needs of almost 600 of the agency’s most needy clients and their family members.
