Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions that customers have asked our trained staff! If you have a question for us that is not listed, don't hesitate to contact us directly!
Q : What should I look for in a collision shop?
Honesty is very important when choosing a collision shop. You should choose a shop you feel comfortable with and is user friendly with insurance companies. Look for a written warranty on repairs and shops that have been around for a long time. In addition, try to see some of their repairs and find someone who has used them in the past for recommendations!
Q : How long should rust repairs
last? Are they warranted?
There is no set way to tell how long rust repair will last, all metal
parts including aluminum are subject to corrosion. Additionally, rust can
come from anywhere on the car and spread to newer fixed parts. Some parts
we use are warranted against rust however; rust repair is not included
in Nu-Look’s lifetime written warranty.
Q :What are some options if I can’t afford to pay for repairs out of pocket?
If you are reporting a claim to your insurance company, you will only be liable for your agreed upon deductible amount. If this amount is not affordable, Nu-Look Collision Centers are able to qualify you for financing to cover repairs or your deductible. In some occasions, we will even pay your interest for the first 90 days!
If you are not reporting a claim to your insurance company and are paying for repairs completely out of pocket the financing may apply to some or all of your repair costs!
Q : What determines a total loss?
Most insurance companies consider a total loss to be damages that total 75% of what the vehicle is worth. Value is determined by condition, mileage, and options among other things. Of course, this may vary with different insurance companies.
Q : Should I spend time shopping around for estimates?
No, every collision shop is subject to the same parts and labor rates, differences in estimates are directly related to how thorough and accurate the estimates are completed. Go to a shop you feel comfortable with and they will provide you with a detailed estimate. If you do have other estimates, ask a Nu-Look sales estimator to consult you on comparing line items between different estimates. We are able to advise you on the exact differences!
Q :How are you able to match paint colors on repairs for all makes and models?
Nu-Look Collision Centers uses a state of the art computerized mixing system. All we need to do is input the manufacturers’ paint code off of your vehicle and it generates a formula for us to match repairs to your exact factory color!
Q : How long will repairs generally take?
The timeframe for each job is determined by the size of the job and the
amount of body and paint labor hours needed to complete it. Your sales
estimator should be able to give you an approximate timeframe when you
schedule your appointment! At Nu-Look Collision Centers’ Henrietta
Express Center, some repairs are completed in 24 hours!
Q : What kind of parts will be used on my car?
This is decided based upon you and your insurance company. In your insurance contract it specifies how repairs will be handled. Nu-Look Collision will work on your behalf to restore your car to your satisfaction, using parts both new and used, provided they meet the stringent qualifications.
Q : Does Nu-Look offer a shuttle service if I chose not to rent a car?
